The Language & Neural Adaptation (LNA) Lab investigates how experiences such as bilingualism and language learning shape the neural systems supporting language and cognition—and how these systems adapt as we age. We use EEG, experimental, and behavioral methods to examine the brain’s response to diverse language experiences across younger and older adulthood. Our long-term goal is to determine when and how language experience supports neural flexibility and resilience and how these insights can inform healthy cognitive aging.

We are developing our research space, launching new studies, and assembling a team to investigate how language experience shapes the brain across adulthood.
